Tunduma Regional Health Center Radiology Lab

At the Rukwa Foundation we pride ourselves on being involved enough in regional centers of excellence to be available when local partners need that “last-mile” support to complete a worthy project. The radiology lab at the Tunduma Health Center was one of those projects. Our partners at the Diocesan Health Board had identified the need for X-Ray and Ultra-Sound Capabilities at this growing regional health center; they built a facility to house it and acquired the right technology. The Rukwa Foundation provided them with a small grant to get the equipment installed, tested, and the new technician hired and trained. This last mile support alongside the leadership and vision of the Diocesan Health Board made the Radiology center a success. The Health Center now benefits from high quality imaging which is already having a dramatic impact on their trauma and maternity services.
